3 Minute Management Course

Lesson One

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"
The eagle answered: "Sure, why not."
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.
All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Management Lesson
˜To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up."

Lesson Two

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."
"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Management Lesson
˜Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there."

Lesson Three

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold; the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Management Lesson
˜(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
˜(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
˜(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

Blessed in the End

I AM SO FRIGGIN HAPPY!!!
My mood today fluctuated like TASR (NasdaqNM:TASR). It all started when I was reading the SFU Course Timetable newsletter during lunch in the office when my heart froze upon reading the PREREQUISITE(S) under the 300-level Business courses.
60 Credit Hours... I checked my go.sfu.ca account and to my anticipation... I was correct... My status: 56 Credit Hours.

I was so flustered at the office because I felt like I needed to die. HOW could I overlook this matter? My academic planning was VERY SOLID, believe it or not. When preparing for courses, I compose at least 3 backup plans. Nevertheless, this was one hell of a surprise... I'm sure even Cao Cao would be astonished if such a surprise attack such as this hit him as well.

It felt good talking to James and Angela because they both showed their support for me. I felt a bit better and decided to tell my parents about the situation. The small bit of happiness in me was plundered by my parents as they were VERY upset with my current performance. My morale dropped to a negative digit after the phone call, and I have to say that the subway ride home from Central to Fortress Hill was the worst subway ride I have ever had in my life.

I promised my uncle that I would cook for them tonight, and so I left work on time and went home. Anthony helped out, which was good. We ended up making a bunch of random dishes. Nothing really fancy, as I was not really in the mood anyways.

To sum up, I stayed up until now and called the Undergraduate Advisor at SFU. She told me that I had nothing to worry about and that the credits I have in the fall can be added to my total credits. In this situation, I will have a total amount of 68. So I really had nothing to worry about.

Life has many surprises, therefore we should try to prepare for them even when we least expect it. I was stupid today. I should have known that with every problem comes a solution. I've certainly learned my lesson today, and for the future, I can assure you all that it will NEVER happen again.

Still made with T. L. C., Ma!

Restoration

So I am finally transferring from Friendster to Blogger. Why?
I e-mailed Friendster a couple days ago informing them that Friendster's blogs can't really compete with other blog-service providers such as Blogger or Xanga. There are many limits to Friendster blogs, which prohibits expansion. It is true that Friendster is NOT responsible for the blogs, and that their partner SixApart is. What good is a blog when it can't be fully customized/manipulated by the user?

I am tired and in need of sleep to revitalize myself for work tommorow, so I will just post some pictures I took over the weekend...
